Attorney Stephen Brown represented Jessica Scott after she broke her ankle due to a fall in an icy parking lot outside of her apartment in Newark. This resulted in one surgery to put pins and screws in her ankle, as well as another surgery to have them removed. After originally settling with the snow removal contractor for $180,000, the jury established that Scott was entitled to an additional $1.3 million. This was made up of $500,000 for future main and suffering, $500,000 for future disability and impairment, $150,000 for past pain and suffering, and $150,000 for past disability and impairment. While a motion has been filed for re-consideration, Attorney Brown believes the court will rule in Scott’s favor.
